My First Cardinal flowers

Look at all those Cardinal (Lobelia cardinalis) flowers! They have been increasing for five years. I love these flowers – because I love red – but now there are some mysteries.

Cardinal flowers

Before these flowers blossomed I didn’t understand what these green plants were. Finally they burst into scarlet Cardinal flowers – among the roses. I had been wondering and wondering what these green plants were – and now I am wondering how and why they are blooming in my Rose Garden.

Blue Cardinal flowers

I did not recognize that mystery flowers were in the rose bed, and then I did recognize what was finally blooming amid the daisies. In Blue! More Cardinal flowers. I never saw this kind of thing.

More Blue flowers

The first Blue flowers were amid the sunny daisies inĀ  the first bed, and these Blue flowers were blooming in the bottom of the second bed. How could this happen?

My First Cardinal flowers

Once again I show off my Cardinal flowers on the third bed. Ever since I planted my first three Cardinal flowers I watched them increase. This was quite nice except that it has circled and suffocated a beautiful white group of smaller flowers. Unfair!

Wow, both species are doing quite well! I’m jealous, because the rabbits ate mine. I think I might try the red ones one of these years, with caging around them to protect them from the critters. Beautiful blooms and photos!
