The weather has been cold, and then warmer, and then cold again. But suddenly the cold meant Snow! Early in the morning I looked out the window and saw this white patch and could not understand what it was.

The leaves were all beginning to change, but I had to walk out as the light was changing. There was no doubt that my garden had the first snowfall of the year. I am realizing it is time to take out coats and knitted caps.
