The grass strip in front of our house is filled with flowers. Today I saw this beautiful butterfly was flying along with the bee that was collecting honey. Both were fascinating to watch.
The butterfly has been spending a lot of time on these flowers, but I cannot learn the name of the butterfly. Any ideas ?
I have just received a note – This is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. Beauty!
How Lovely! Just Wonderful!
Cynthia – I’m so glad you liked the beautiful butterfly. We have quite a few of butterflies – and bees near by.
I think it is an Eastern tiger swallowtail.
Yes, the swallowtails are special. 🙂 I always think its a great day when I see any butterflies. They are so graceful. Great photos, too. 🙂
Karen – Thanks for visiting – and giving me information. I hope you enjoy these events.
Beth – I was really pleased to see that swallowtail, because I don’t see them. Thanks for the comment about photos.
I’m a butterfly fanatic, and I think Tiger Swallowtails are the prettiest ones. I love how their bodies are striped to match their wings.
