The view from the window shows that we had our first snowfall, just over an inch, but it didn’t last long. Temperatures mostly ranged in the 30s and 40s. I guess I am done putting the garden to bed. Our first complete year in the new garden draws to a close leaving us with a sense of satisfaction – and a list of things to do next spring.
Congratulations on your garden’s first birthday!
I think that you have summed up the basic pleasures of gardening; attending to the tasks of each season, being satisfied with doing your best whatever it may be, and then building on that to prepare for the next season in the garden. Would that we could live more of our lives in that garden-in-the-here-and-now mode and always look forward to doing more or different next season, only looking back for lessons. No recriminations, no blaming. Frame all regrets as guides to what to do next.
Wonderful view. There is a garden commencing in this space. I must say it looks cold with that snow on the ground. I love seeing the forms of your garden islands.
Lisa – Even more snow now. Winter has really arrived.
