Golden Crocus

A lot of snow was dumped on our town a few days ago which did not make me happy.  However, The weather got warmer. And warmer. Today, this afternoon, the snow melted enough that the first crocuses bloomed.

Golden crocus

You can see the front yard grass is not back in style, but there was a surprise today.  This is the second, and only other patch of golden crocus. I am delighted. I am also a little worried. We have been told snow will come again in a few days.  I hope the skies begin to prefer the sun, like the cherry blossoms  which are in bloom in NYC.

Same here…not the crocuses, but the clear weather and then the snow and then the melting and then repeat. We just got 6+ inches last night, which melted down to 3 inches today. More snow in the forecast, but hopefully not too much. I have snowdrops about to bloom and other bulb plants emerging. Happy almost spring!

Beth – Our snows are melting, but we have been promised more snow. We are in the same spot, and I am looking forward to more and more flowers begin to bloom. Keep watching.
