It had been raining, lots of rain, for 24 hours. Please notice that we have managed to keep most of the garden plants out of the water. Ever since we started our garden we have been bringing good Martin’s Soil home to create raised beds that make it possible to have flowers and shrubs.
For the first time this year our rain barrels are in operation. Needless to say there was substantial overflow.
The garden shed is just barely above the water and you can see that some plants, especially some daylilies are in water.
Two shrubs, the water loving Buttonbush (it likes living on river edges), a golden winterberry then a willow tree. All these plants love water. Pretty soon I will have water lilies in this spot. And I will be very glad if I get no more rain over 25 hours!
