As my granddaughter Caitlin always says, “We always know WHAT Granny will give us for Christmas, we just don’t know WHICH.”
The shopping is just about done but I haven’t done much wrapping yet. No one knows who will get the cookbooks, scifi books, business books, garden books, poetry, books about Christmas, novels OR magazine subscriptions. Ladybug!
Do you have a gift specialty? Does your family know WHAT if not WHICH?
The best gift to me.
I’m also a book-giver! Thanks to your blog, I discovered a perfect one for my mom.
This really simplifies the ‘what to give’ problem. I need to think about this for next year.
Lisa – I confess that in my shopping I did buy a Nancy Mitford paperback for my day after Christmas reading. My own personal tradition.
Leah – I hope your mother enjoys it.
Sharon- Books gifts definitely simplified my Christmas giving. What can you expect from a retired librarian?
Do you mean that every December 26 you read a Nancy MItford book, or just that every year you get yourself a book to begin reading the day after Christmas? Whichever, I love it! Maybe what you mean is that your personal after Christmas relaxation is a day of reading.
Nan – You have understood me perfectly. Not necessarily a Nancy Mitford although she is a good choice this year, but a quiet day of reading and eating leftovers by the fire.
