Water is a precious resource. It is also a source of beauty in our gardens. We cannot all have water like this in our garden, but . . .

Circular Fountain

we can have a circular fountain, and

Grotto fountain and pool

and we can have fountain and grotto pool in our back yard jungle, and

Urn Fountain

and we can have a simple urn fountain, but

we will probably never have a frogs with turtles fountain like this one in Seattle, Washington.

What kind of water  do you have in your garden?

I have four bird baths in my garden. One is in ground and I run a pump in it that makes the water burble as a fountain. Nothing fancy but the birds all appreciate the water. Of course the squirrels and our dog like the in ground pond. Pond now mind you it is only about two feet by two feet wide and only about 3″ deep. 🙂

Lisa – I want exactly the kind of pond you have. I have been thinking about water in the garden a lot – as you will soon see.

we have a simple fountain in a big pot in amongst my ferns on our patio. It makes a restful sound. I would love one of those Asian type ones made from bamboo that go “cluck” when the water tips it over. Happy gardening and thank you for stopping by my blog this week. It was great to “meet” you.

Jill – You and I are on the same wave length about fountains. I like the Asian fountains that go chuck, too. For my next garden.

  5. I love the first picture. The way you made a smaller fountain out of the pond. So pleasing, I to love the Asian style ponds and gardens. So Peaceful

Livin – Please note I did not make this magnificent lake in the Japanese Garden in Buffalo. But it is interesting the way they did make a separate pond.
