Theoretically spring has sprung. The first day of spring dawned chilly, but temperatures got to 56 degrees before they began to fall again. I thought wistfully of this time of the year in 2016.
Last year I went shopping and bought potted shrubs which I planted on March 22, along with a Lindera benzoin, spicebush. Spicebush swallowtail butterflies like to eat the foliage of Lindera Benzoin. I had a wonderful day last year working in the garden, cleaning up and planting. And then . . . 
the sun set and snow fell. Oh, well. Real spring will come.
I guess Spring has to be sprung several times before it feels at home.
Oh gosh, I hope your snow will melt fast. Ours is pretty much gone, but we’ve had a yo-yo late winter/early spring. Eventually we’ll both be firmly launching into the growing season. Yay!
Yikes, spring does really come late to your area! It must be hard to wait so long to get your hands dirty again, but at least you have blue crocuses to enjoy. It amazes me how tough these little flowers are.
Here in San Diego, of course, we are of the opposite climate spectrum, roses have seriously set buds and some flowers are opening already!

Beth – The snow is melting. Slowly. At least the predicted ‘record breaking cold’ didn’t arrive last night. It was a balmy 20 degrees at 7 am.
Christina -I have to go across the street to enjoy my neighbor’s crocuses – but they are generous in viewing time, and I will plant my first crocuses in the fall. All I can say about San Diego is HOORAY! I have cousins in that area.
