Kathy’s Garden – Wordless Wednesday

In between Sunday’s showers and torrential rains I visited Kathy Puckett’s garden which is magnificent. A perfect event for Wordless Wednesday.

I have to add a few words after all.  On Saturday June 12, visitors are invited to experience Seeds of Solidarity at 165 Chestnut Hill Road in Orange.  Seeds of Solidarity consists of a farm, home, and non-profit organization with educational programs. The day begins with a morning tour, which begins at 10 am and goes until 11.30, and focuses on solar greenhouses, energy efficient buildings, abundant market gardens, solar electric and hot water systems. Visitors are welcome to bring a potluck lunch then stay for the afternoon workshop:  No-Till Gardening for Life from 1-3 PM.  This workshop will focus on gardening with permanent raised beds, mulching and ‘the cardboard method’ to build fertile living soil, produce abundant food and mitigate climate change.  People are welcome to attend either the morning or afternoon events, or make a day of it.  The day is geared towards adults, but children are welcome with adult supervision.  No dogs please, and carpooling is encouraged. Directions are available at www.seedsofsolidarity.org .  Seeds of Solidarity offers this free Solidarity Saturday of events on June 12 to support their slogan, “Grow Food Everywhere.” Seeds of Solidarity’s full calendar of events is available on their website, where one can also join sign up to receive a monthly enewsletter.
