Muse Day – September

He who bends to himself a joy

Does the winged life destroy;

But he who kisses the joy as it flies

Lives in eternity’s sunrise.

                         Eternity by William Blake

The golden days of summer are flying. Soon the hills will be a tapestry of rich color. I’ve already had to put a quilt on the bed.

Many thanks to Carolyn gail at Sweet Home and Garden Chicago for hosting Muse Day and giving us all a chance to share our observations and inspirations.

    Beautiful photo and sentiments, Pat! I can feel fall in the air, too.

    Enjoyed reading your post about Serenity Cottage; it certainly looks like a wonderful place to relax and find peace. I didn’t realize Niebuhr was the author of that prayer–it’s one of my favorites.

    Rose – The Serenity Cottage is just lovely and so comfortable. We Heathans are proud to lay claim to a part of Niebuhr’s history and thought.

    Your autumn tree is beautiful. Living so far south the trees do not give such a display as you will have. This Blake poem is one of favorites. So lovely to see it again.

    Curmudgeon – I’m glad you visited and enjoyed the poem.
    Mary Delle – This is just the beginning of the display. I have always found wisdom in Blake.
